StarDusted Bengals

How to Adopt

We are are particular in the placement of our kittens and cats. We will not simply sell one of our babies to just anyone that has money. It is of utmost importance to us that our Bengals go to loving, forever homes that will match their individual needs and personalities. Prior to excepting deposits, we screen any and all potential homes. We insist that the needs and personality of the kitten or cat must be a good match for the interested person(s) lifestyle and family. Every cat and kitten is an individual and, for one reason or another, may not be suitable for certain lifestyles. We want to make certain that the kitten or cat and it's new owner will both be happy. If we believe a specific kitten or the potential new owner will not be happy, we will refuse to sell that kitten to that person, even if we believe they would otherwise be a good home!

Our kittens will only be allowed to go to new homes when they are ready, between 10 and 16 weeks old. All kittens will be altered prior to leaving (at 16 weeks) or go with an alter agreement. We are not currently offering kittens for breeding to catteries that we have not worked with before. The adoption fee of a kitten will include it's age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and a health check. It will not include the kitten's altering, unless otherwise specified. All of our kittens come with a health guarantee. The price of a kitten will vary depending on it's individual color, pattern, gender, and quality. A non-refundable deposit, per kitten, will be required to hold.

The steps to adopting a kitten or cat from us are:
1. Submit a Questionnaire Form
2. Get on the Waiting List
3. Sign our Contract
4. Make Payments
5. Bring home your new family addition!

The Questionnaire Form:
Simply copy and paste the Questionnaire form into an email, fill it out completely, and send it to us! Once we've had a chance to review your questionnaire, we will notify you if there are any problems and
whether or not you have been approved. CLICK HERE for the questionnaire form.

Why to get on the waiting list:

Why would you want to get on the waiting list you ask?  Because it is our policy that those on the waiting list will be offered a kitten of their desired traits, as available, before someone who is not on the waiting list. There are always new people being added to the waiting list. Please know that unless you are on the waiting list, there is no guarantee that you will ever be offered a kitten! For those without deposits, it will be on a first come, first served basis. We only allow our queens to have a litter a maximum of twice a year with a minimum of 12 weeks recoup time between the weaning of the first litter and the breeding of the second. If you add in the fact that she will be pregnant for 9 more weeks, then the resulting litter will need at least 10 weeks before they are weaned and ready to go, that's  31 weeks, just under 8 months! We currently have only one queen, who typically has between 4 to 7 kittens in a litter, so at most we would have 14 kittens available a year.

How to get on the waiting list:
We require a $50 non-refundable deposit to get on the waiting list, but first we insist that you fill out and submit our questionnaire form to be approved. If you are approved, you may send a deposit. The deposit will go toward the purchase price of your kitten. We put those with deposits on the waiting list in the order we receive them. When the type of kitten you're waiting for is available, we contact those with the earliest deposits first. They will then be given a specified time to decide to purchase or pass on the kitten. If the person passes on the kitten, their deposit remains with us and they wait for the next litter to be born. The person with a deposit has the right of refusal. If the person does not decide within the specified time frame or refuses any particular kitten, we will make the kitten available to the next person on the list, but they still have the first pick from the litter. We reserve the right to hold any kitten back we choose for ourselves, regardless of how many people are on the waiting list. We will not notify you about any kitten you are not waiting for. Example: if you wanted a brown spotted male, we will not notify you about an available brown marble or any other color/pattern/gender than you specified in the questionnaire form. Once you are added to the waiting list, we will contact you by email with any litter announcements, kitten updates, and pictures. Once you've chosen a kitten, you will be required to send a non-refundable deposit (that will go toward total purchase price) of $150 to hold your kitten until it is ready to go home with you.

The Contract: Click Here For Our Pet Contract

After you have selected a kitten, we will send you a contract by mail to sign and send back to us. Once the kitten is paid for in full, we will send you a copy of the contract that we have filled in and signed along with our health guarantee and all other papers relating to your kitten such as health records and registration papers. Please note that registration papers (also known as a "blue slip") will be withheld until the kitten has been altered, either prior to going home with you in which case the registration papers will be sent at the same time as the rest, or  at your own vet and proof of alter has been sent to us.

Making Payments:

We take deposits for kittens once they are 6 weeks or older. We will take payments either on a bi-weekly or a monthly basis. You will have up until the kitten is 16 weeks old to pay the remaining balance after the holding deposit has been placed. Payments may be made either by Paypal, cash, cashiers' check, or Walmart Money Gram. All methods, except cash, will require that you pay an additional fee (Paypal requires a 3% fee for example) and those fees will not go toward the purchase price of your kitten.

Bringing home kitten:

Depending on where you are located, there are several methods that we can use to get your kitten to you. If you live near us, you may choose to either pick up your kitten at our home or have your kitten hand delivered for the cost of gas. If you live farther away from us, you can either opt to pick up your kitten, have it shipped by air, or have it hand delivered for the cost of our gas.

Please Note: Purchasing a Kitten or Cat as a Gift
We understand that there are those who will want to purchase a kitten or cat as a christmas or birthday gift, but under no circumstances will a kitten or cat be sold to be given as a "gift" to anyone without the knowledge and consent of the person receiving the kitten or cat. In the case of a kitten or cat that is being purchased as a gift, we insist that the person that will be the primary caregiver fill out an inquiry form and, providing they are approved, sign a contract with us themselves.
